EMERGENCY PREPAREDNESS WORKSHOP https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/CMS_Workshops

If your facility is new to disaster preparedness and emergency planning, please see the attached letter from Dr. Wilma Wooten, County of San Diego, Public Health Officer, which introduces the CMS Emergency Preparedness Rule and summarizes the upcoming events. The Public Health Preparedness & Response (PHPR) branch will be hosting general information sessions targeted to facilities that are new to disaster preparedness, to help support them in meeting the mandated CMS guidelines which were implemented in November 2016. There are over 1500 facilities in San Diego which are now required to implement the CMS Rule and space for these workshops is limited. There is a maximum of two attendees per facility. If you feel these topics would be helpful, we encourage you to join us. Support binders and USB Drives with emergency planning templates will be provided. For those who choose not to participate we would still like to offer you a USB drive that has information for facilities who are developing their emergency plans. We will be distributing these USB drives at each regional tabletop exercise (TTX). This training will include a general overview of the following topics:

  • New CMS regulations
  • Hazard Vulnerability Assessment
  • Continuity of Operations Planning
  • Communicating with your local authority
  • Redundant Communication
